It quickly dawned on us that Aēsop would be a superb match as a partner for providing our bathroom amenities. Renowned for their commitment to quality, sustainability, and sensory pleasure, Aēsop’s products are of the finest quality, formulated with meticulous attention to detail and sustainability, focusing most on efficacy and sensory pleasure.
Not only do their products resonate well with our beliefs at The Dylan, their approach on design also echoes our ethos: when considering new locations, it is their intention to work with what already exists. They seek to weave into the fabric of the neighborhood and add something of merit rather than impose a discordant presence. Seeking local relevance with understatement as a priority, each of their stores seamlessly blend in with their surroundings, often in collaboration with local architects.
This also goes for their stores here in Amsterdam. For example, their Nine Streets location (around the corner of the hotel), is inspired by the joyful colours and modernist aesthetic of the ‘Nieuwe Bouwen’ movement, following the typical style of esteemed Dutch architect and furniture designer Gerrit Rietveld.
Their Utrechtsestraat location on the other hand, was guided by the excisting structure and interior lines of its monumental background, that dates back to the 17th century. This harmony of old and new created its own atmosphere and personality. Something that is not unknown to us here at The Dylan.
